The Nevis Range

A Yurt with a view :)

K., and I have had an interesting day today. We were treated with this stunning sunrise, decided to prepare the fire for our return of exploring the Nevis Range and as we were about to head off, the weather dramatically changed.

So we headed into Fort William instead to have a look around. The shops are very much catered for tourists and those looking for outdoor clothing and kit. It was too misty to do any of the water related activities and we didn't think the Gondolas would be running. We decided a forrest path walk in the rain would do us fine.

However, on arrival at Glen Nevis Visitor Center the weather changed again so we decided to try something a bit more taxing... Heart Attack Hill. I'm still not at the stage of saying I enjoyed it, boulder climbing was much more cardio than Allermuir Hill, but the views from the top were stunning (the phone battery had unfortunately died by this point). We could have continued up to the next part of the Ben Nevis climb, but instead headed to Glen Nevis Inn as previously planned. I really have to recommend the Inn - the food was lovely (huge portions!) and the staff were friendly.

Got back to the Yurt just before the heavens opened and enjoyed an evening of cards by the fire listening to the rain.

Have quite enjoyed the Yurt experience - the space inside are fab.
