Pickering Food Defences

Over the past year tons of earth have been moved concrete structures installed and paths diverted. This valley used to be open pasture surrounded by trees and provided an opportunity to get away from it all.

Whilst appreciating the need to protect housing from flooding I would have preferred more natural solutions to the problem. I just hope the landscaping improves the current morass.

As much as the diggers choreographed movements offering interest it does not make up for the loss of the natural habitat.
