100 Years On
100 years on from the outbreak of World War One, and the moat at The Tower Of London is filling up with Poppies. Each one represents a British Military death during The Great War and there will be 888,246 in total with the last poppy being planted on 11th November.
An amazing and sobering sight and one that I am very pleased that I made the time to experience.
Having taken our time to look round the moat, we walked over Tower Bridge and on the The Shard. We wanted to do The View as the weather was being very kind. It was a fantastic sight from the tallest building in London but an extremely expensive one. It would cost you the same in dollars to go to the Top Of The Rock!
After a wander down Regents Street we ended up at Pete's favourite place to eat in London - TGI Fridays. We walked from here to Covent Garden where I bought some new trainers.
We picked up Harley from the dog sitter when we got back at about 9pm. He had had a terrific day playing with Jasper and was absolutely exhausted when he got home and put himself straight to bed!
