There is still packing to do before we take Adam to Oxford on Tuesday.

These are exciting and nervous times but most important of all is Adam is taking it all in his stride.

A major advantage of the digital age we live in is that he has already struck up a friendship with someone on his course who is in the same college.

We have been out for a lovely family meal this evening to celebrate Adam's upcoming birthday on Sunday as I'm away in Kielder Forest.

But before we ate there was the small but important matter of teaching Adam a life skill.......
