Foot-slogging sauna

Long day at the Paris Motor Show. We left the hotel at 5.30 am UK time to get to the show early and photograph as many cars as possible before the crowds arrived. I love a busy press day at a motor show, with all the new model unveilings, emerging news stories, executive interviews and industry networking, but oh it can be so hard on the feet. Plus the fact that all those spotlights beaming down on the cars create sauna-like conditions in the crush of press day activity.

There are eight show halls at the vast exhibition centre at the Porte de Versailles, and I walked miles today around and between them. It has been a good day, but I am looking forward to a later start tomorrow. It will be a treat to have a less urgent alarm call and a leisurely breakfast before a morning's writing. Then off to the airport and the flight back home.
