Winter Trees

Leamington Spa Art Gallery and Museum. Until 16 November 2014

Bought a 30 minute car park ticket and used it in a loiter about the gallery. With nil in my stomach, I contemplated Jacqueline Donachie's 'Winter Trees' installation (2008). The black blob is her leather skirt. Full analysis here.

Rinky tinky on purple grass,
Shafts of light, hob-nail boots,
Tramping down the bamboo,
That grows upwards, downwards, sideways,
Into the Concrete Cosmos,
Life is mauve,

On the way home from work the sunlight was intense. I stepped out on open fields with long shadows like this.

Laters, at the Bakers, a couple of Warwickshire's Church End 'Fallen Angel', Gold Medal Winner in the Strong Bitter category at the 2014 GBBF. Sensational.
