Dahlia Duo

Ever have one of those days when everything, I mean everything, goes right? So right, that it’s noticeable? Usually it’s the days that don’t go so well that stick in our minds. Today’s the last day I have to do things before leaving for Indiana. I didn’t have a huge long list, but it was a list, and everything got done with time left over. I’m going to take that as a positive sign.

I went dahlia picking this morning at our local treasure of a berry/produce/flower farm. It’s probably one of the most relaxing and nifty things to do that I can think of. You get to wander through several acres of every color, size and shape of dahlias with a bucket and twist ties and you can pick as many as you want, tie them up and pay by the bunch. I’m telling you, it’s addictive. It’s very hard to stop cutting, even though you have a bucket-full. You certainly can’t stop with the purple one, you must have one of those big yellow ones, and after you get the yellow one, there’s an apricot one that you just have to have, and then there’s the little red pom-pom ones, and the orange ones – and so it goes. I ended up with a very large bunch of dahlias which will be my thank-you gift to my friend Rhonda tomorrow morning when she comes to pick me up at 5:00 AM to take me to the airport. It’s the best way I know of to thank a special friend for doing such a nice thing.

So, signing off for now so I can disconnect and pack the computer. I'll back blip something from my travel day tomorrow.
