Prickly and Pear
I've made the most of today, as it seems the weather is on the turn overnight. The bedlinen has been washed and dried outside but we are hanging onto the summer-weight duvet for another month or so yet. Once my feet decide they need to sleep inside the covers, that's the time to change the duvet.
I took a stroll around the block and picked up a few sweet chestnut husks but the fruits are tiny and not worth storing. There are still a few walnuts around, but most have been taken. I ate a few blackberries, they've had a long season this year, but so many have gone to waste, which is a shame.
The community orchard has been all-but cleared with just a few hard pears left. There weren't many apples this year.
All-in-all a lovely sunny October day.
I am definitely not an arranger of fruit or flowers, but I thought the prickly sweet chestnut husks should have an airing together with one of the hard pears.
