The day my lens died :(

I've been keeping a look out for a better lens for my camera than the kit lens which came with it when I bought it a few years back but hadn't found a decent bargain yet.
About 10 minutes after taking this photo my lens started making a horrible grinding metal noise... Had a bit of a google and there doesn't seem to be an easy fix for it. Knowing the price I can buy an identical replacement for on ebay it's definitely not economically viable to have this one repaired.

Away to start searching ebay for a lens to tide me over now.
