The Crusader
I was at Salford Quays for most of the day and had a wander round the Imperial War Museum. The exhibition abut the First World War was really interesting but I'll remember this work by Gerry Judah, obviously a contemporary art work, the artist's response to the theme of global conflict. It looks like it's made of the debris from a urban landscape devastated by violence but I wonder why its cruciform shape is not mentioned at all in the write up beside it. Perhaps we're meant to make up our own mind.
