But, then again . . . . .

The Old and the New.

It was a very slow day, the tilers came to do the floor then, without a word and while I was not watching, disappeared again. We waited, then we waited a bit more, then a bit more and, after more waiting they re-appeared. Apparently, they had phoned the boss, sucked their teeth a bit - and explained to him that the floor wasn't level so they would have to go and get some levelling compound. One would have thought that professional tilers would have such stuff in their van, it is big enough. They must be very rich it they don't have to start the real work before midday.

Anyway, they spent an hour applying the stuff and said they'd have to leave it over night to dry and would be back tomorrow at 10:00. At least I would not have to get up at the crack of dawn to let them in, I had enough of early mornings during my working life. They must be paid far too much if they can afford to start work that late.

While walking the dogs after they had gone, I came across this thistle - part of which thinks it's spring while the rest of it thinks it's autumn. I was rather pleased with the shot until I noticed that there is a rather prominent leaf shooting out of the left of the picture.

I've just posted yesterday's, "You Saw it Here First."
