The girls' team had practice down at West Potomac Park, and we took a run around the Tidal Basin. I'm always amazed at how few of them have spent any time down at the monuments and memorials. As we hopped from spot to spot, I shared some highlights, and they seemed really excited to hear about some of the small tidbits about design processes and symbolic decisions within each structure. I have always loved Jefferson's memorial the most and am constantly in awe of the beautiful statue.
