How to ... Shoot a decent Moon Picture (and stars)
this is for a DSLR (not sure if it possible with a Bridge
**** THE RULE OF THE 11's ****
very simple: Aperture at f/11, Speed at 1/ISO.
***********
1. In (A) mode (priority to aperture) set your aperture to 11.. (this is key.. now you know why the name is Rule of the 11)
2. Set an Iso of your choice... (a high one.. you will understand why later.. anyway try a few times and watch the results) Update: I got better results at ISO 200.
3. Change to (M) and Shoot at 1/ISO... (now you now.. the higher the ISO the faster the speed the less chance you have to blur the picture). Update: not necessary: nobody blurs at 1/200.. unless you're shivering.
Example:
For this foto I Chose ISO 800 (Update.. and I did a good mess... lot's of burnt pixels. Did better later at ISO 200)
Shot speed was set to 1/800 (don't forget the f/11 aperture)
PS... 1. don't forget to choose your focus to "single point" (or focus mannualy)
2. More Important: Change the metering to Single Point too.. in case it is setup to matrix..to center the light reading in the moon and ignore the darkness around... if the camera reads the darkness it will try to compensate and the moon will blow...
