Felled my 1st Tree -

Another volunteer project at Hassall Green .

We were shown what to do
1) Clear the area around the tree so you have a quick getaway if it goes the wrong way
2) make a small V shape nick in the side you want it to fall too
3) cut towards the nick from the other side
4) watch carefully for any movement and shout "TIMBER" as it falls

It made a rather large noise, now all you need to do is strip the
branches , and cut into 4 foot logs and stack at the bottom
of another tree.
