The last rose

.. in the garden, enjoying the last rays of sun.

The school had its annual 'Day of Obligation' today where all pupils and staff have to go in and pretend to be working, playing sport, doing music etc, only more so and with feeling as it's Open Day for prospective parents.

Grace was assigned to the Classics Department, ostensibly to show off her coursework, but seems to have spent the day skiving round the school with a boy called Eduardo (she's never mentioned him before).

Tom was chosen to be a Tour Guide. He said his first tour lasted three hours! God knows where he took them. Starbucks? He said he couldn't face doing another one after that and went to play football on the field.

After all that there was a lunch for new parents, which I felt an obligation to go to. It was actually pretty nice and good to meet some other parents of kids in Tom's class.

So there (nearly) endeth Saturday .. except it doesn't, as Grace has her first 'proper' evening party tonight, 8-11 pm and will need picking up.

I wonder if Eduardo is going ..
