Mardale comes up for air
Our friends took us to Haweswater today because the water level in the reservoir's been so low lately that you can see some traces of Mardale, the village that was abandoned, so that the valley could be flooded.
It was a strange sensation, walking around the ruins.
Afterwards, we went to the award-winning Two Sisters tearoom for a pot of Earl Grey and a slice of White Chocolate & Elderflower cake. Then into Kendal for some book browsing... and, yes, maybe some buying, too.
