Covent Garden installation

This is the latest installation by artist Alex Chinneck. I have to admit as to being a bit perplexed as to the meaning or message behind the installation. It does have the feel of being just a bit of a film set.
Mind you the architectural cynics out there might just feel it is commentary on how the project manager has just value engineered (cost cut) their latest creation. Of course you need a roof and some foundations but do we really need that fussy bit in the middle. Lets cut it out and save some money.
