Canvassing

I trained my first two people how to canvass door to door today. They were to knock on doors and ask registered Democrats for whom they were leaning towards voting. They were also to encourage those who weren't already on the Permanent Early Voting List (PEVL) to sign up for it.

I had the Field Coordinator listening to every word, making sure I didn't leave anything out, like reminding them how to pronounce Demion Clinco's name (a candidate). Afterward, she said she was impressed and told me she really liked the extra tips I added.

I have 'walked' for several years as a Precinct Committeeman. I think I'm well prepared for the tasks ahead of me as the election approaches. At least today it was easy training just two people. When I'm alone and training a dozen for each shift, we'll see!

Early ballots drop on Thursday! It's bare knuckle time.
