holly thicket

We have too much holly in our wood. This is the result of this morning's work. We have known we should cut down some holly for years . but it's such prickly work we have avoided it. It will all grow again, but just for now there's light for other things. Holly is one of the few trees that will germinate seed in heavy shade. That's why we have so much!
