Tunisia Trip, Day 2

It was an even earlier start to our day today with an alarm call at 04.15!!! It was so worth it though as after a small breakfast we were taken to the expansive salt flats at Chott el-Jerid to watch the sun rise with the Atlas mountains in the distance which was absolutely breathtaking! We then continued on our way to Tozeur to enjoy a horse carriage ride through a lovely oasis full of palm trees laden with ripe dates which we sampled before switching into 4x4 land cruisers for a very hairy ride which terrified me! It was then onward to Kairouan to view their great mosque before finally heading back to our resort for a well needed soak in the bath, a few cheeky vodkas and a relatively early night.
