Once upon a time S and b-i-l planted some coriander on this steep hillside. Once they’d harvested a leaf or two for salad, coriander did what coriander does and bolted. So S and b-i-l decided that instead of harvesting leaves they’d wait a while and harvest seeds. One morning they spotted an ant army stripping the seeds from the plants and carrying one each along a new superhighway like this one that they were simultaneously building between their home in the ground and the plants. S and b-i-l mounted a defensive action and started taking the seeds back, one by one, from the determined ants. By the end of the operation the score was two teaspoonfuls to S and b-i-l and a large winter stash to the ants. Clever beasts.
