WASP
Tonight I went to hear an WWII aviation historian share some stories and video documentary that was really interesting. However, the best part of the night was being introduced to Ms. Vi Cowen. Vi was a Women's Aviation Service Pilot during WWII. This means she volunteered to join with the military to ferry airplanes to the servicemen. The women didn't see active duty, however, they were very vital to our military. She flew 17 different airplanes and her favorite was the Mustang P-51. She told some stories and at 94 is sharp as a tack. She said she lived her life with no regrets. That is such a great reminder to all of us. It was a wonderful night, I wish I would have had my camera to capture a photo of her, but since I didn't, I did the next best thing.....my bear, Amelia Bearheart. Who knows maybe she is one of these WASP in the photo in the background.
