Edinburgh Meat Market

I went out with 'the girls' this evening - Kath, who is my work colleague and very good friend and Jen, another friend who I met via an old work colleague, Gordon, as Jen is Gordon's wife!

Kath lives just outside Nottingham and comes up to Edinburgh at least one a month and inevitably, we go out for a meal and a couple of glasses of wine.

We were walking along Fountainbridge in Edinburgh on the way to the restaurant and walked past this rather magnificent gateway. It seems it used to be the entrance to the Edinburgh Meat Market. I don't recall ever seeing it before, even though I have been along Fountainbridge many, many times.
