Market Hall tower, Louth, Lincolnshire

This very tall, slender tower commands the centre of Louth. It is very striking and quite a landmark.
I think it symbolises the past significance and prosperity of this once important market town, now grappling with the life and death struggle between small and specialist shops/ traditional family businesses on the one hand and the mighty supermarkets and chain stores on the other.
It is a shame that so many communities, like Louth, are being stripped of diversity and character whilst being overwhelmed by big business, in the process of being 'cloned' and losing their unique character and "interestingness".
