Blipped by others but this was on my bucket list.

A long, long journey down to the smoke. First Transpennine didn't manage to get me to Manchester Piccadilly on time for my connection to Euston, so I got a later Virgin train which was itself delayed.

Then a hot, packed tube train to the hotel. Quick unpack, and a dash across London to see the evolving installation of ceramic poppies at The Tower. 888,246 poppies will progressively fill the moat. One for each British fatality in WW1.

Dinner at YO Sushi. Takoyaki - battered octopus balls with powdered seaweed.
