Disneyland!

"It's a small small world, la la la la la, it's a small small world, la la la la la it's a small small world, it's a small small world, it's a small world after all...
It's a small small world, la la la la la....."

Ha ha ha.

Mega fun day in Disney. Some of us got to use the app that plans a route, taking into account the length of the lines...yeyyyy! (Seriously good...we did EVERYTHING on our list in a day!) Some of us got to ride big motion-sickness-inducing Star Wars rides. Some of us had pictures taken with Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Pooh Bear and Tigger, even though we were now teenagers and probably way too cool for that. We wilted in 100°F heat (again..), marvelled at the fact that they match the hand-rails in the lines to the theme of whatever you are doing (bamboo in the jungle, rusty pipe in the old mine, wood in the Hundred-Acre Wood), saw more fireworks, watched princesses and pirate ships and Mickey Mouse conducting an orchestra in a weird mish-mash of stuff that must just plain confuse small children.

And had a surreal moment, when the Raiders of the Lost Ark ride stopped working. Which, of course, takes a few seconds to register, as you're used to it stopping and starting and jolting around. As it stopped for what is clearly a No Longer Funny amount of time, the fake fear we've all signed up for (screaming happily along) morphs into real fear (MUCH quieter..), then turns into relief as it moves again (start up the screaming, folks) aaaannnndd then we're stopped again. In the dark. Clearly we survived and all was well, but there was some musing on just how essentially passive and managed it all is.

Let's get back to real life now.
