A room with a view..
A, our son, bought us tickets to go and see 10CC in Inverness, and an overnight stay in a Premier Inn. We game A (different A) a lift down to the city (arranged in NW Sutherland Car sharing on facebook), and arrived around 5 ish. Time to settle and get a meal before the show at 7:30. Note the new Ness flood defences being constructed on both banks of the river..
We'd arranged for M to be a dog sitter to look after Tanni for the night, he stayed in the house overnight, and I believe it was quite wild..
Back to the show, the support act was a trio, a couple and another girl, who played country and western songs. Not really our cup of tea. Beer was £4.45 a pint, so we only had a couple, nice as it was, but that's a bit steep really.
10cc came on after the interval, and playing all their "hits", were really tight, and they came over really well. They did leave space for a few extended solo's too, which added interest.. It was a really good show, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a little agro between the couple sitting next to us and the next bloke along. Don't really know what it was about, but we stayed behind and chatted with the staff and gave our side of what we saw. Nothing could be done at that stage, but it nearly came to blows during the show..
I got a poster after the show, and got it signed by the band, and with the message "Happy Birthday Gill". Wonder what Tuesdays blip will be?
..to be continued..
Music, of course they played this, it was wonderful.. (just changed the link to a version similar to what we saw..)
