We've got our field back!
This is the field outside our back gate - they harvested the sugar beet last week. We like it when it has been beet in there - wheat or barley leaves sharp stubble which scratches feet and legs, potatoes leave deep ridges which can trip us up when chasing a ball (and hide the ball), but beet leaves a fairly flat surface which is firm too because of the wight of the harvester. Unfortunately they will probably plough it soon and plant the winter wheat then we will be restricted to the footpath round the edge again. But we are lucky to have all this space on our doorstep, really.
