A Heavy Burden
I found out last night that I don't have a job any more. The lady who employed me said they didn't need any help at the moment, and that the girl I was working with was happy to work on her own.
I don't get it, they said they needed someone to make sandwiches and rolls - that's what I was doing. They said it was great having an extra pair of hands. The last day I worked, I was told I would be trained up on the till the next time I went in. Then, all of a sudden, they don't need me.
I don't understand.
I spent this morning gathering together as much stuff as possible, and sold it to an antique store in town, so I could pay the electricity bill, as the power was due to be disconnected tomorrow. A lot of the stuff was my father's, and it came to me when he died. I also sold my Coolpix p500 camera.
