The Legendary Pyynkki Stadium

It is peculiar actually, how soon the darkness begins aldeady and how you stay indoors so easily aswell... the sunset is at 6.37pm and after that you really have to force youself outdoors.

These football players seem to have no problem training outdoors however. They can bath in light during their play and actually the weather was the best today: +9c, windy, dry evening.

This Pyynikin stadium is in Tampere located near Pyynikki esker... It has been build in 1908, but the existing buildings and the edge of the fence are mainly from the 1920's. This field is a traditional sports arena, whit a number of Finnish and world records - mainly from early 1900's...

The field here is a quite new third-generation artificial grass, which was installed in the spring 2008. To the surface thete is painted field lines for football and American football (the team here is Tampere Saints) . There is also a six-laned, tartan-surfaced 350 meter track around the field.

During winter time there is a big ice rink on the football field, but there is no artificial icing machinery however. There is sometimes also for excample Valentine's day skatings with old dance music to skate with.

This was my evening drive by car today. No walking, sporting whatsoever. Had a busy day and I have quite exciting day tomorrow, so I had to have time to think and concentrate to it in advance.
