FLYING SWAN

at the Uithof. The day had started dark and only at half past two I cycled to the Uithof. At that time the weather had changed, now and then a totally blue sky above my head and then the clouds came running in again due to the windthat was blowing.
I had stopped at the sight of three Highlanders, one white, one brown and a brown calf. One happy family.
At the open field where the black highlanders live, I saw a whole colony of herons, standing as if afraid to move only their heads, against the wind perhaps.
A lonely swan in a pond and another one in the ditch, but when I had gone a bit further another swan came flying through the air and with a big bow landed gracefully next to the swan in the ditch, A pair it was.
My trip had been not too long, and it is hopeful to experience that all went well.
Piet Hein had gone to the sea but did not swim because of the dangerous surf.
Day two of the move, and we sorted out Piet Hein's suits, which one had to stay here in the closet and which we would move to Germany.
We are in the process of making room in our apartment for Mischa who will move there in the beginning of 2015. We will have one room for visits and holidays, be lesser time in The Hague, will make less fatiguing travel, all for the best for the three of us.
Deciding what to take and what to leave we do now already because that trip in possibly bad weather helds no attraction for us.

My haiku:

Fly high and come safe
Down, dreams are coming true if
We want and fate helps

And the quote by Seneca in Letters to Lucilius:

Fate leads the willing, and drags along the reluctant.
