Startings

Awoke expecting heavy skies and the startings of rain so I was amazed to find a glorious pink sunrise catching a mix of dark blue and grey clouds that slowly turned from pink to lurid orange over about ten minutes.

Such a fiery orange is quite rare and the quality of light this morning was something else. But that, as it turned out, was only a temporary lull and eventually came the start of heavy rain that lasted most of the day and gave the air a slightly chillier feel than the 15c that appeared on the thermometer .
