This one's kinda hard to explain....

This one may take a little bit to explain, and to fully do that, I have to go back about a year to the National Honors Society Seniors vs Teachers volleyball tournament. I had missed the meeting where everyone got their assignments so the day beforehand, it was decided that I was going to wear a big box advertising the NHS Twitter page. I have no idea why, but it was successful. Now, this is where it gets interesting. The Boy Scouts go to Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation every year for summer camp. Well, this past summer we decided to go to Bashore Scout Reservation, where they have something called the “Campwide Games.” We had to have a mascot and participate in different activities. As the only one with mascot experience, I was chosen for the position. Along with that, I was given a 55 gallon barrel, a construction hat, and a whistle, which was supposed to be my musical instrument. I thought about what I would be, then I decided to be “The Coal Bucket” because of the impact that coal mining has had on our community. I then drilled a hole in the hardhat and shoved a flashlight in there to have a makeshift helmet. Everything else came from random ideas from the troop. This is the end product, and what I had to wear in front of hundreds of scouts. We didn’t win the games, but seriously, there wasn’t much I could do from the inside of my bucket.
