Did I mention it was raining!

At the suggestion of our lovely B&B hosts we went to Mardale reservoir today. Back in 1935 the valley was flooded to make a reservoir to serve Manchester. At the bottom of the valley had been a village and, as the water levels were so low, you could see the remains of the buildings. As we were driving down we could see that the weather was closing in and by the time we got to the car park the rain was so torrential that you couldn't stand up to it. We got out to see the information board but, being 'southern softies', decided we got just as good a view from the car!
