Homecoming Queen!

My best friend, Megan, was crowned Homecoming Queen tonight, and I couldn’t be happier for her. Megan and I have been close friends since elementary school, and we have managed to stay very close. Megan and I used to live on the same street and we could walk to each other’s houses. The summer before seventh grade was the summer before she moved in the fall. She didn’t move far away, but we couldn’t walk to each other’s houses anymore. That summer was a summer I will never forget. We drove our bikes to each other’s house every day and played outside for hours. This was the summer after her sister was born, so we spent a lot of time playing with her baby sister, Faith, too. Megan is probably one of the funniest people you will meet. She comes across as being shy sometimes, but when you get to know her, you won’t be able to stop laughing. Megan and I are water girls for the football team, but on the night of the Homecoming game, she obviously couldn’t help me, so I was by myself. I was so excited for her. After she was announced as the queen, everyone in her family came over to her, everyone was so happy! This picture was taken at the end of the game. The little girl is Megan’s sister, Faith, who is now five.
