Mending Wall; Robert Frost

It is quite refreshing to arrive at Frost's darkly ironic and humorous - and accessible - poetry after all the affectations and navel gazing of the imagists, dadaists and modernists!

Mending Wall is one of his most famous and I've enjoyed its study, with the exception of the woman who thought a way in to the poem was by going through the pronouns!!!!!! Yeah, that'll really capture the essence. The course does show that the focus in poetry study seems to push content and symbol well to the back of the queue, which has form at its head, almost to the exclusion of meaning sometimes.

Lovely to be immersed in literature again, however.
