Life Lesson

We studied anatomy at Life Drawing class tonight.

We confirmed that the hip bone is connected to the thigh bone and the thigh bone is connected to the knee bone...(sing along if you know this song!)

I also learned about the bony landmarks on the body. For instance, if you feel the back of your neck, the first bone you feel is the 7th cervical vertebrae. It's higher than the divit in the front of your neck which is the only connection point between the shoulder bones and the rib cage. This is useful for drawing.

I've been struggling with this class but I'm slowly learning that the less I care, the more fun I have and the better I am. I think this is the real lesson!

PS Thanks for all of the nice comments on yesterday's not so pretty picture. Very much appreciated. I know bones aren't pretty either but I've always been fascinated by them. I guess I like knowing what's underneath the surface.
