The open gate

Our first day on holiday and we all took advantage of the opportunity to be lazy - at least for as long as we could stand it. I kept waiting for the drizzling mist to stop so I could take my camera for a walk; mid-afternoon I gave up and went in spite of the mist. I love my walk ?around the block?, it is pleasant and refreshing in all weather.

In the end, I could have left my camera at home - I shot this from the kitchen doorway looking past the garden wall...
