Speak No Evil
In Madrid for an overnight stay and this cheeky chappy was part of three panels showing 'See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil'. Got here on the first AVE of the day, leaving Bcn at 6.05am (gulp!) and arriving at Atoche station at 9.30am. We got checked into our usual friendly hostal, wandered around and, once again, commented on how much we like Madrid and how different it feels to Bcn. Not that we don't like Bcn! We sought out a traditional Madrileño restaurant for lunch, which specialized in 'cocido' - slow cooked chickpea stew with beef, chorizo, lamb, chicken and ham and served with cabbage. Each portion was served in individual earthenware pots and the soup from the stew was served first, then the rest as the main course. As the elderly gentleman at the next table commented to us, 'you need a typical Spanish siesta after this!’. And we did, after wandering round a bit more.
