Spoilt for Choice
For reasons too complicated to go into here, we found ourselves at The Copper Hog tonight about 5:30pm. Phil ordered albacore salad bruschetta and house fries (chips), seen here -- a generous serving wrapped in brown paper and nestled in a pint beer glass. He also had beer in a pint glass, of course!
My choice was an excellent Caesar salad, graced with the addition of four small slices of sautéed pork belly, two of which I gave to Phil in trade for some of his fries. I don't eat meat often, but when I do, I like it to be full of flavor, and this pork belly certainly was! A glass of Picpoul de Pinet, one of my favorite French white wines, went well with my meal.
We shared a slice of chocolate truffle cake with Nutella whipped cream and berry coulis, which rounded out the meal nicely, and we left well satisfied with our choices. Do try The Copper Hog if you're ever in Bellingham!
