Just in time...

I'm beginning to find a few more interesting fungi, just in time for the display we will be mounting over the weekend for National Fungus Day. The display and associated events will be at the BBOWT College Lake nature reserve near Tring. This one, Helvella crispa, is associated with those dark, dank corners of the wood where there is a good layer of leaf-mould and rotting wood. The strange contortions and pallor give it an animal-like ghostliness...for me anyway!
