Piz Mezzaun
I said in my blip a few weeks ago that this mountain keeps winking seductively at me. Well this morning it was one wink too often and with my new companion Franco set off to answer the challenge. Piz Mezzaun is a big complex mountain with no marked paths or trails, We had a pleasing sense of exploration as we threaded our way through big, steep cliffs and skirted lonely corries. Eventually we emerged on the summit ridge and climbed our way to the top and a glorious panorama. We then decided to stay high and cross a high bowl to climb another peak on view from my lounge window Piz Uter and then round and down over Piz Arpiglia, our descent eventually dropped us down through larch woods ablaze with autumn colours. A great day and definatly one for the scrapbook.
