Barn dance
Got up early to get to the station to go to Birmingham City Uni open day. We managed to get train tickets which were £40 cheaper!! :)
It took around 2 hours to get there and then about a 20 minute walk to the Uni. The walk wasn't particularly scenic but the campus was nice! :) When we arrived we were given two free drinks tokens, which was very nice! :)
I wasn't expecting there to be very many people, because when we booked the tickets online. We received 2 emails, a letter in the post about the Uni and I got a text yesterday saying 'how much they're looking forward to seeing me'!!! So they sounded quite desperate for people! But there were many more people than expected! :)
Mum and I listened to the paramedic course talk, but I wasn't very keen and neither was Mum. The placements weren't even in Birmingham, which is very inconvenient, and a few other things like tuition fees weren't paid for?? How ever I really like the accent, although I couldn't understand it all the time!! :D
We then had lunch in a rather crowded cafe/canteen/restaurant with our free drinks! Whoop whoop! :)
After lunch, we watched a paramedic simulation which was good. It was basically the students treating a person having a heart attack (he was acting! Don't worry!) and talking through what they were doing! Which was interesting! :)
Wandered through all the rooms which were fitted with healthcare practise equipment, like mannequins etc. Then we had to speed walk to catch the next train back...only to miss it!
Finally got back to our station and I caught the bus to church to go to Grace and Sarah's home ed's barn dance! :) It was soo much fun! I love a good barn dance! :D
