Metro

Work today then afterwards met some friends in town for a drink and then a lovely Turkish meal at Red Meze. We got the metro and in Monument station I took a photo of this artwork to blip. Its by a famous local artist, also from south shields, called Robert Olley. He created it at the customs house in South Shields in 1996, its called "Famous Faces" and shows well known personalities from TV, sport etc looking from the window of a metro carriage. I am actually not sure who some of the people are (I am probably too young) but I still like it. His most famous artwork is the painting, "Westoe Netty" which is interesting to me as I remember the real Westoe netty before it was removed in 1996.
