The Last Samurai

This is Aizu castle- once home of a Shogun War Lord. It's also about 30 years old!

In 1880 something it was full of samurais and a very traditional way of life. Outside the walls were government troops representing a new culture and way of life. They were armed with new guns and cannons supplied by their new British allies.

The government troops opened fire on the castle and burnt it to the ground killing masses of people inside.

This was the beginning of the end for the Samurai and they're way of life....
