When your Dad is a Truck Driver

When you father happens to be a truck driver, I find things that some other people would not find funny to be pretty hilarious. For instance, this picture shows two bumper stickers on the back of a truck driver’s trailer. As you can see the sticker on the bottom left says passing side and the bottom right says suicide. What some people do not understand is that when you attempt to pass a trucker on the right hand side he can’t see you at all. That means when you go to pass him he does not see you until you start to get in front of him. This becomes dangerous for both the trucker and the person driving the passing car, because trucks can’t stop as easily or quickly as a normal car can. This means that the truck driver has to dart the opposite direction (possibly into other traffic) to prevent an accident and that other drivers death. This also becomes bad for the truck driver, because if he either hits the passing car or hits another car because of the passing car it ends up being his/her fault. So in other words, this picture means that if you want to pass a truck pass it on the left hand side, but if you feel like committing suicide then try to pass the truck on the right hand side. After my mother sent me this picture this morning, I had a good laugh and thought that this would make a good picture for my blipfoto today.
