Hyperinflation

I always try to bring back a small note in local currency from a holiday as a souvenir.

At independence in 1980 ZIM$0.68 was worth US$1
In 1999 (from memory) there was around ZIM$15 = £1
Today in Zimbabwe the ZIM$ is (almost) worthless.............. however on eBay exactly the same banknote is for sale today at £35.85!!!

In 2009 a ZIM100 trillion (100,000,000,000,000) note was issued, which on the black market was worth just over £20

The world has gone totally mad
