Foot refresher - alpine style

Day 4 of Classic Haute Route. Climbed to the Col du Neve de la Rousse (2752m), with great views of Mont Blanc and the Grand Combin. Descended via a snow filled lake, le Gouille du Draggon to Bourg St. Pierre to stay at the Hotel Cret - a strangely anachronistic oasis where we got to exchange clothes and take a shower (!).

We stopped on the way down to the Gouille du Draggon at this high pasture chalet where a stream fed water trough was absolute bliss to refresh the hot feet. Our two guides, pictured, Nigel Shepherd and Libi Peters also enjoyed!
