Cumbria Here I Come

On the straight and narrow

What a mixed bag of weather today, lots of heavy downpours with sunshine in between and fantastic cloudscapes and lighting.

This straight and narrow road is the road between Bowness on Solway and Carlisle.
Hadrian's Wall Path an 84 mile national trail also runs along this road and in the summer its gets quite busy with walkers. It makes life interesting when driving as you have to dodge cows and sheep as well as people :) Encountering black cows on the road in the dark is not good! They are only on the marsh until end October, but the sheep are out all year unless its high tide as the marsh and road floods.
