Struggling Swimmer Comes Third.....

Pushed my way into the timers lane to grab the photo. Went ok until the timer lady turned around in a hurry and banged her head on my lens. Had the photo by then so I was happy to slope away. Amazing what a bit of courage can do- mine- that is for breaking protocol- and his of course for entering the race!
Was a huge challenge to set high shutter speed, focus on his face, and shut out the bright glaring sunlight and water reflections. Most of the photos had perfect focus on the water pressure wave in front of his face and not on his face . Made for interesting photos but not good "kid album' shots. This is the best compromise.
